Yangxin Expressway Yellow River Bridge Smart Traffic Weather Station Project Put into Operation
The Yangxin Expressway Yellow River Bridge, an important part of the Henan Expressway network project, has officially opened to traffic, strengthening regional connectivity and improving the overall transportation network across multiple provinces. The project plays a significant role in enhancing logistics efficiency and supporting high-quality economic development along the Yellow River corridor.
To support the smart highway system of the bridge section, Jinzhou Sunshine Meteorological Technology Co., Ltd. deployed a comprehensive traffic weather monitoring station along the expressway. The system is designed specifically for highway environments and provides continuous, automated monitoring of key meteorological and road surface parameters.
The monitoring system measures visibility, wind direction, wind speed, air temperature, humidity, rainfall, and other atmospheric elements. It also tracks road surface conditions, including surface temperature, dry/wet status, snow and ice presence, ice thickness, snow depth, and road slipperiness. All data are transmitted in real time to the central control platform for integrated management and analysis.
Under severe or extreme weather conditions, the system can automatically generate alerts and deliver warnings to traffic management authorities and drivers through multiple channels. This enables faster response, better decision-making, and improved road safety, contributing to safer and more reliable highway operations.
