Integrated Water, Hydrology and Weather Monitoring Station Installed at Mian Du River Wetland Park

Recently, a comprehensive water, hydrology, and atmospheric monitoring station supplied by Jinzhou Sunshine Meteorological Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully installed and commissioned at Mian Du River National Wetland Park in Inner Mongolia.

The wetland park is located in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, and is characterized by a complex ecosystem of rivers, lakes, marshes, forests, and grasslands. Covering over 6,100 hectares with a high wetland coverage ratio, the park includes multiple wetland types such as permanent and seasonal rivers, marsh wetlands, shrub wetlands, and reservoir wetlands, making it an important regional ecological conservation area.

For this project, Sunshine Meteorology deployed a fully integrated monitoring solution that combines water quality, hydrological, and atmospheric observation systems. The water quality module measures key indicators including water temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and suspended solids. The hydrological station monitors rainfall, evaporation, water level, flow velocity, and discharge. The atmospheric monitoring system tracks ambient environmental parameters and includes an atmospheric negative ion monitoring unit, along with soil temperature and conductivity sensors.

All subsystems are powered by solar energy and use wireless communications for stable long-term field operation. The integrated platform enables real-time data collection, transmission, and centralized analysis.

The monitoring stations play an important role in wetland park management and visitor safety. They provide accurate weather and environmental information, support early warning for severe weather, and help park authorities optimize operations. At the same time, the collected long-term datasets support ecological research, vegetation and soil conservation studies, and water resource monitoring, providing a solid scientific basis for wetland protection and sustainable development.
