Smart Meteorological Monitoring System Deployed in Nature Reserve to Support Forest Ecology

Recently, Jinzhou Sunshine Meteorological Technology Co., Ltd (Sun Weather) successfully completed and put into operation an ecological and meteorological monitoring system for a national nature reserve management station in Heilongjiang Lingfeng, China. The system provides comprehensive, real-time environmental data to support scientific decision-making and sustainable ecosystem management.

To ensure high data accuracy and coverage, the smart ecological monitoring platform is equipped with a high-precision, multi-parameter sensor network. It integrates monitoring of air temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed and direction, rainfall, solar radiation, UV radiation, negative ions, and hydrological flow. It also supports extended air quality sensors including PM2.5, PM10, SO₂, NO₂, CO₂, and O₃, enabling full-spectrum observation of key ecological elements across water, soil, and air.

The system is built around an online forest environment monitoring platform. Multiple field sensors continuously collect soil, atmospheric, and water data, along with forest resource dynamics. With 4G wireless communication, all monitoring data are transmitted reliably to the central data platform.

Collected multi-source data are centrally integrated and managed, supporting advanced analysis and application. Real-time values can be displayed on LED screens and visual dashboards, while data are simultaneously uploaded to the cloud platform. Authorized users can access the system through PC and mobile apps for remote monitoring and management.

Based on monitoring results, the platform supports risk grading and early warning for threats such as forest fires and pest outbreaks, enabling faster preventive action. The system provides strong scientific support for ecological protection, forest resource management, and restoration work, improving both ecological and economic benefits.

This smart forestry monitoring system plays a vital role in ecological infrastructure. It strengthens disaster prevention capability, supports water conservation and soil protection, improves regional environmental quality, and provides data support for green development models such as eco-tourism.
