Smart Agroforestry Weather Station Deployed at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University
A Smart Agroforestry Weather Station has been successfully installed at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, marking another step forward in intelligent agricultural and forestry environmental monitoring.

Surrounded by dense forest and open grassland, the station is strategically positioned to capture representative microclimate data within the agroforestry research area. The on-site installation integrates seamlessly with the natural environment while ensuring stable and accurate long-term operation.

This project is a collaborative effort between SunWeather and Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, aiming to support teaching, scientific research, and ecological monitoring. The system continuously observes key solar radiation parameters, including total solar radiation, net radiation, UV radiation, and sunshine duration, providing essential data for forest growth analysis and agroforestry energy balance studies.
In addition to radiation monitoring, the station comprehensively measures air temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and precipitation, enabling a full understanding of local meteorological conditions. For soil-related research, the system is equipped with sensors for soil moisture, electrical conductivity, and pH, supporting precision agriculture and forest soil health assessment.
As shown in the field image, the weather station adopts a compact integrated structure with a solar panel mounted on the mast, ensuring solar-powered operation. Combined with wireless data transmission, the system can operate reliably in remote forest environments while delivering real-time data to the monitoring platform.
This smart agroforestry weather station provides high-quality data support for agricultural meteorology research, forest ecosystem studies, and sustainable land management, demonstrating the flexibility and reliability of SunWeather’s customized environmental monitoring solutions.
