PV Module Simulation Testing System Deployed at Jiangxi Provincial Academy of Building Research
Recently, Jinzhou Sunshine Meteorological Technology Co., Ltd. (SunWeather) successfully completed the installation, commissioning, and acceptance of an indoor solar photovoltaic (PV) module simulation testing system at the Jiangxi Provincial Academy of Building Research. The system is now operating stably and has received high recognition from project experts and researchers.

As shown in the on-site installation images, the system adopts a laboratory-grade solar light source simulation structure, integrating high-intensity artificial light sources, precision mechanical positioning devices, and an intelligent control system. This configuration enables accurate simulation of natural sunlight conditions within an indoor environment, providing a reliable testing platform for solar PV modules without being affected by weather or seasonal changes.

The indoor simulation system is designed to replace natural solar radiation in laboratory testing scenarios and is particularly suitable for small- to medium-power photovoltaic module performance testing. It supports comprehensive electrical parameter measurements, including I–V curves, short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage, peak power, voltage and current at maximum power point, fill factor, conversion efficiency, series and parallel resistance, as well as module temperature and irradiance intensity.
Key technical advantages of the system include:
Four-wire connection technology, ensuring high accuracy in current and voltage measurement
Multiple optical configurations (top-illumination, bottom-illumination, or side-illumination), adaptable to different testing and production requirements
Simultaneous measurement of temperature and irradiance, enabling automatic correction and higher data reliability
High testing efficiency, with single test duration under 1 second and minimum test intervals below 5 seconds
Compatibility with automated production lines for rapid testing of high-power PV modules
The TRM-PD4 indoor solar PV module simulation testing system, combined with a solar simulator light source and microcomputer-based automated control, fully meets the fast-testing demands of modern photovoltaic production lines and research institutions. It provides a stable, precise, and efficient solution for indoor photovoltaic performance evaluation, supporting both scientific research and industrial application.
